BGC Contracting grows construction division
BGC Contracting are pleased to announce two new General Manager appointments as it continues to build its service offering and expansion into its next phase of construction and contract mining projects across Australia.
Johannes (JJ) Van Der Walt commences as General Manager Construction, Western Australia with BGC Contracting with more than 20 years’ experience in Construction, Mining and Project Management. A skilled engineer with excellent management skills, JJ joins BGC Contracting from Georgiou Group. Acting as both bid and design manager on a number of projects across Australia and Africa. JJ has significant experience in bridges, concrete, roadworks and major infrastructure projects and has a strong background in project delivery and providing clients safe and cost-effective solutions.
Eugene du Plessis returns to BGC Contracting as General Manager Construction, Eastern States and boasts more than 30 years’ experience in listed and private engineering and construction companies across Australia and Africa. A strategic and project focussed leader, Eugene has significant experience as Project Director and in Senior Operations Management and Business Development roles across the civil and infrastructure contracting industry. Eugene has managed complex infrastructure projects working for McConnell Dowell most recently.
Mark Angove, Chief Operating Officer Construction said the appointment of these two highly experienced General Managers to our Construction division, is reflective of BGC Contracting continuing its momentum in project delivery with great people and strong relationships which are the company’s key Brand Pillars.
