Andrew Taplin Appointed as Mining COO
Leading Australian mining and construction firm BGC Contracting Pty Ltd has appointed senior international mining executive Andrew Taplin as Chief Operating Officer - Mining.
Mr Taplin, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the mining industry, was most recently President of Rio Tinto’s Resolution Copper development in Arizona, USA.
BGC Contracting Chief Executive Officer Greg Heylen said that Mr Taplin’s significant strategic, operational and project leadership experience would contribute to the acceleration of the company’s transformation and diversification strategy.
“Mr Taplin is highly specialised in mining operations and brings considerable strategic capability and innovation to our mining team, Mr Heylen said.

Mr Taplin’s appointment follows the retirement of BGC Contracting’s previous Chief Operating Officer – Mining, Martin Spibey.
