selective gold mining operations through to the bulk mining of iron
ore.

Koolan Island - Mining | Mt Gibson Iron | $330 million

Project Details
BGC assisted to
develop the project from start-up including construction of
workshops, fuel facilities, barge landing, ROM, roads, ramps,
environmental facilities etc.
Mining commenced
with ore from Satellite ore bodies Eastern, Mullet and Main Pit
West with average haul distances of 3.5 km. Mining also
extended to Barramundi West and Acacia.
Project completed 30th
June 2011. Total material moved 52.2M BCM

Koolyanobbing - Haulage | Cliffs Natural Resources Ltd

Project Details
BGC has a contract for the loading,
hauling and dumping of iron ore from the northern tenements (Mt
Jackson, 80kms and Windarling, 100kms) to the Koolyanobbing
processing plant. Also included in the contract is road
maintenance, management of water supply pumps and distribution
locations. Initially a greenfields operations, new infrastructure
and haulage terminal needed to be developed. Total contract volume
is estimated to be 31 million tonnes.
Up to fifteen (15) specialised minesite build roadtrains haul
product over a 24 hour double shift period to meet schedule
requirements. Payload of each load will be in the vicinity of
185 tonnes.
In April 2009 the haulage
contract became part of the Alliance

Rockys Reward - Mining | BHP Billiton - Nickel West | $130 million

Project Details
This project comprised of Drilling, Blasting and Load
& Haul of Rocky’s Reward cutback II to access ore below the
existing open pit. The project entailed working above and around
old underground open voids to access the nickel ore body.
The scope of work awarded had a with a contract sum of
approximately AUD $220 million and involved the removal of 30.1
million bank cubic metres of ore and waste over a 48 month
period

Jimblebar - Mining | BHP Billiton Iron Ore | $130 million

Project Details
The crushing and screening plant was capable of 8 million tonnes
per annum was operating at approximately 600,000 tonnes per
month. The ore was crushed to minus 150 mm and
stockpiled.
The railed product was scheduled at approximately 600,000 tonnes
per month. The mining schedule was set to meet these targets
and was approximately 600,000 bcm per month. BHP Billiton was
the principal employer and BGC hold all statutory responsibilities
such as Registered Manager, Quarry Manager, Ventilation officer,
Electrical Supervisor etc. BGC was responsible for meeting and
exceeding all requirements for the site relating to the
environmental license conditions. Approximately 160 people were
employed at Jimblebar.
Mining consisted of levelling hills as haulage was downhill
loaded. In the open pit mine natural voids were incurred in the
first 20m below the surface. The slope of the natural hills ranges
between 10° - 60° from the horizontal. The ore was heavy with bulk
densities as high as 3.3 tonnes per cubic metre.

Plutonic - Mining | Barrick Gold of Australia | $90 million

Project Details
Located in the Northern Murchison, Plutonic is located
approximately 170km north of Meekatharra. Works include
contract mining, ore haulage and crusher feed. Two mining
fleets operate within a 60km radius of the Plutonic Mill.
Other mining works include the rehandle of low-grade ore, clearing,
rehabilitation and transfer of underground ore to the ROM
pad. BGC is contracted to haul up to 150,000 tonnes per month
from various satellite mining operations to the Plutonic
Mill. Haulage operations from 9km to 56km are undertaken by
Big Foot road trains with payloads of up to 150 tonnes.
Additional works include road maintenance and crusher feed
activities.

Boddington - Prestrip Mining | BGM Management Company | $60 million

Project Details
The Boddington Gold Mine is located approximately 130km South
East of Perth. Works include clear and grub, open
pit mining, topsoil and gravel stripping and contract drainage
work. At peak capacity BGC had 5 mining fleets, 1
scraper fleet, 1 clear and grub fleet, and 1 drainage fleet
with over 200 personnel. Total volume to be moved
was 16.5 Million BCM.

haul at the Wodgina open cut tantalum mine. The contract
also included maintenance of the haul roads.

Bulong - Mining | Bulong Nickel Ops | $42 million

Project Details
BGC COntracting was contracted to provide mining and
crusher feed as well as the maintenance of the haul roads.
The mining involved multiple pits, scheduled to supply optimum
blend for the process plant.
Total contract volume was 9.4m bcm. Small project
management jobs also handled by BGC Contracting.

Minjar - Mining | Gindalbie Gold | $30 million

Project Details
BGC COntracting was contracted to undertake the mining of
ore and waste and the crusher feed. Mining was conducted
in 4 pits with a combined output of 300,000bcm per months in
wet conditions. Blasting was carried out in all pits 2 to 3
times per week.
BGC undertook all site earthworks, road and tails dam
construction.
BGC was contracted to supply road haulage sidetipping roadtrains
hauling gold bearing ore from various satellite operations to the
Minjar treatment plant. Haulage operations from 5klm to 45klm
is undertaken by triple roadtrains operating double shift.

Orebody 18 - Prestrip Mining | BHP Billiton Iron Ore | $22 million

Project Details
Management of the Pre-Strip Mining Project at Orebody 18
project 40kms east of Newman.
THe scope included the Pre-Strip development and construction of
three pits, haulage roads, infrastructure and ROM pad.
BGC were required to move 2.5mbcm of ore and waste
from three pits located approximately 4kms apart. BGC Contracting
was responsible for holding all statutory positions. The project
employed approximately 100 employees on a fly in/fly out basis out
of Newman.

Jundee - Mining | Newmont Yandal Ops | $20 million

Project Details
Jundee is located in the Yandal Goldfield of Western Australia,
590kms north east of Perth, and approximately 193kms north from the
township of Leinster. Jundee, the largest of the Yandal
operations, began production in 1995.
BGC were contracted to move 2.5 million bcm of
material within the Gourdis/Vause Satellite zones. The scope
also included rehabilitation of the waste dump and laydown
areas.
BGC originally undertook the drill and blast, load and haul
operations on 3.22 million bcm of ore and waste material sourced
from nine satellite pits. Three pits located at Area 7 (20kms
from mill). Two pits located at Gourdis (42 kms from
mill). Four pits located at Vause (45kms from mill).

Hail Creek - Overburden Mining | Rio Tinto Coal | $15 million

Project Details
Located 100 kilometres west of Mackay and 35 kilometres
North-East of Nebo, the Hail Creek operation produces coal from one
of the world's largest coking coal deposits. The mine was
officially opened in November 2003. BGC undertook to
supplement the overburden removal of this newly established
mine. Works included drilling and blasting operations,
mining, hauling and dumping of overburden. The total contract
volume was 5.9 million BCM. The work also included the construction
of the Workshop and Office complex.
