Drill & Blast
While BGC Contracting is well recognised as one of the major mining contractors in Australia, BGC Contracting is also an experienced Drill and Blast Contractor, providing drilling and blasting services to its own open pit mining and civil construction operations and to mining clients who perform their own earthmoving.

Dependent on the scope of work, our site Drill and Blast teams are managed by a dedicated Drill & Blast Superintendent, or by a Drill & Blast Supervisor reporting to the project mining team.
The BGC Drill & Blast team provides the following key services:
- Production drilling and blasting for surface mining operations;
- In pit Reverse Circulation grade control drilling and sampling; and
- Construction drilling and blasting.
Additionally, a Drill & Blast Manager and a Senior Drill & Blast Engineer are situated in the Perth office to provide further technical support to all project sites as required. This enables BGC Contracting the ability to maintain a consistent approach to all facets of its drilling and blasting operations.
BGC Contracting has a large pool of highly skilled shot-firers and drillers trained to a nationally accredited standard.
Drilling Capability
BGC Contracting currently maintains and manages a large drilling fleet consisting of 18 Atlas Copco drill rigs, currently:
