Overview
Business Management System
The BGC Contracting Business Management System (BMS) is based on the "process approach" as defined by ISO9001. The BMS is fully Third Party Certified by SAI Global to the Management System Standards ISO9001 (Quality Management), AS/NZS4801 (OH&S Management) and ISO14001 Environmental Management).
The BMS encompasses the requirements for management of:
- our business and operational processes;
- occupational health and safety issues;
- quality assurance;
- the environment; and
- our human and physical resources.
The BMS is divided up into Business Processes and Integrated Business Management Processes. These differentiate the procedural requirements for specific activities within the business. A Corporate Services team at Head Office controls the publication of BMS documentation and is responsible for ensuring that this remains current and available.

BGC Contracting CHARTER
OUR CHARTER establishes the "rules of the game" by which we conduct our business. It represents who we are and what we stand for. It guides us in our decision making and how we deal with each other.
Our CHARTER comprises OUR VISION, Mission, Core values, Code of Behaviour and a link to our Goals and Business Plans.
Contract Management System
Our CMS is based upon the BMS and where possible uses the same documentation. Where required documentation is modified to reflect specific requirements.
Our CMS ensures that all contract related objectives are achieved, from commencement to handover or delivery. They include tender handover, contract review and award, project management, quality assurance/control, workplace inspection, auditing and technical queries.
Safety Management
At BGC we are committed to a "No
Injuries Environment". This commitment is demonstrated through our
TRISAFE Initiative,
which has been specifically designed in-house to meet our safety
objectives.
OURCHARTER incorporates safety objectives, core values and behaviours that reinforce our approach to safety in both the workplace and at home.
Executive Safety Council
Safety performance is monitored through our Executive Safety and Health Council which is chaired by the CEO, with Senior Management representatives attending from each area.
Measurable targets and objectives are reviewed at these meetings, with the aim of creating a "No Injuries Environment".
Safety initiatives are communicated down to all levels of the organisation with all our personnel and subcontractors kept informed about and directly involved in workplace safety issues.
WorkSafe Platinum Plan
BGC Contracting is the recipient of a WorkSafe Platinum Certificate for safety management. The certificate is awarded by the WA Department of Consumer and Employment Protection, and recognises the commitment of all of our people to successful safety management.
Australian Government Building and Construction OH&S Accreditation Scheme
In April 2006, we became the first WA building and construction company and one of the first companies nationwide to be awarded provisional accreditation under the Australian Government's Building and Construction Occupational Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme.
Environmental Commitment
Our Environmental Management
System is accredited to ISO14001, and our aim is to always conduct
business in line with the community's desire to protect the natural
environment.
Woodside Energy and BGC Contracting were jointly awarded the CASE Earth Environmental Award for Category 3 in 2004, in recognition of our environmental achievements at the Burrup Peninsula.
We are a member of the Greenhouse Challenge Plus program under an October 2006 agreement with the Australian Government.
